Finding Your Calling and Serving Him

Don't even know where to begin it has been so long since I've made a post on here. I decided since this is the beginning of a new month to read a chapter of Proverbs a day for the entire month. In Proverbs 1 we are warned against complacency and not listening to the warnings given to us. However at the very end of the chapter we are reminded that if we follow the Lord and listen to him we will live without fear or harm. Let us remember who we serve and the price He paid for us.

The other day I was able to sit and listen to Bill Williams speak in Missions Chapel about his efforts with Focus Northeast. I have known Bill for almost 10 years now and he is not only a good friend but someone I look up to and a mentor to me. This talk although simple really hit home with me because I began to realize how much of an impact each of us can have on the world if we simply will use the talents the Lord has given to us for His Glory. We are not all cut out to be preachers or youth ministers but each of us can have a positive effect on those we come in contact with and have an impact on the Kingdom. Using myself as an example, I love sports and golf in particular and want to make that my career Lord willing. What if I could find a way to blend the word of God into my career and impact even one person to change their life for Jesus. It sounds simple but there will be struggle I am sure but if each of us went about things in this way everyday what a great way to change the world. I hope I am able to use the passion and talent God gave me to impact the world for him.

God Bless you all.

  1. Hey, Josh - great comments. Lon would be so proud. Byron Nelson was a good example of a Christian who could also be a great golfer. Just remember where you need to be at all times - walking with Christ.
